Creation of a support and investment programme in Seed and Series A
Context and need
- CDG Invest, a Moroccan public investment fund, has entrusted INSKIP with the creation of a vehicle to accompany and invest Seed tickets of €300k and Series A tickets of €1M in startups with an MVP and with an African/MENA ambition
- The client's goal is to have a structuring impact on the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Morocco and to contribute to the sophistication of the startup fabric
- The ambition is to attract and support talents towards entrepreneurship by providing methodological and pedagogical support
- The long-term objective is to drive success stories: startups with global ambitions from Morocco
Approach and methodology
- Understanding of the existing situation: mapping of players and identification of their positioning, benchmark of vehicles that could be deployed in the local context and recommendations
- Strategic framing of the value proposition
- Definition of the operational modalities of the program
Actions
- Co-structuring with the Caisse des Dépôts et de Gestion of the support modalities
- Definition of the investment mechanism and thesis and the associated due-diligence processes
- Evaluation of the necessary investment pocket and the amount of the invested tickets
Results
- 55 startups supported
- 10 startups financed
- 3 M€ invested in Seed
- 2 Series A (€7M and €4M) in co-investment with international and African funds (YCombinator, Partech...)
